Family Services

MomteenSubstance use impacts the entire family. It is for this reason that meaningful family involvement is one of the key treatment elements of the DSYTC clinical approach.

In addition to the Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) model, DSYTC family services include regular communication and support (e.g., telephone, email, etc.) as well as formal family counseling and therapy.

Family services are available to caregivers of youth who are currently receiving treatment in the live-in or continuing care programs at the DSYTC.

If you are unsure of where to start or what to expect from support services in the community we offer a series of short, evidence-based videos that are designed to empower both caregivers and youth with essential information and knowledge. These educational resources address common concerns and address important and relevant topics such as: self-care, fostering healthy and effective family communication, managing emotions constructively, mental health and substance use, navigating live-in programs and learning about ACRA – a foundational treatment approach at the DSYTC.

Each video provides practical insights tailored to diverse family journeys. Whether you’re seeking information for the first time or looking to enhance existing knowledge and support strategies, our videos are accessible to any and all families who may benefit.
