Mike Beauchesne, M.Ed., MBA, CCC – Executive Director

Mike has been with the DSYTC since 2001 and has worked in various clinical and leadership capacities during his tenure, including: Addiction Therapist, Clinical Coordinator, Executive VP – Clinical Services and his current role of Executive Director (since 2015). A strong proponent of evidence-based practices and the personal and professional development of self and others, Mike enjoys collaborating with a local, regional, provincial and national focus to help improve the lives of those who are impacted by mental health and substance use issues.

Mike possesses an Honours degree in Psychology from Carleton University, an M.Ed. (Counselling) from the University of Ottawa and an MBA from Carleton’s Sprott School of Business. Mike is also a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). He is a previous recipient of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – Mental Health Service Provider Award, the Drop the Shame, Get in the Game Award for his advocacy of youth addiction and mental health as well as the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH) Champions of Mental Health Award (Community Individual).

Born and raised in Ottawa, Mike has been married for more than two decades to his high school sweetheart Kristina, an elementary school teacher and leadership consultant. Along with their dog Cooper, their very active sons Quinn and Carter are their pride and joy and they spend most free nights at a hockey rink somewhere in Ontario.
