Richard Walker
Richard Walker is a bilingual senior communications and public affairs leader with nearly three decades of experience spanning government, labour relations, national associations, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector. He currently leads strategic communications for the Air Line Pilots Association in Canada, advising pilot leaders on media relations, government affairs, crisis communications, reputation management, and member engagement.
Previously, Richard served as a senior federal government spokesperson and ministerial Director of Communications, including leading crisis communications, managing communications teams, and advising on high-profile and market-sensitive issues. He has also held senior communications and public affairs leadership positions with national associations and nonprofit organizations, where he developed corporate communications strategies, advised executives and member-led boards, and built relationships with government, media, industry, and community stakeholders.
Richard brings extensive experience in strategic communications, issues and reputation management, stakeholder relations, organizational leadership, and member-driven governance, along with a career-long ability to communicate effectively in both English and French.
