2020-03-11 — Make It POP

March 11th 2020
“Make It Pop” @
Algonquin College, Student Commons building

Did you know Jeff Bezos earned over $35 billion last year through Amazon, but that 2019 set a new record for number of store closures? Stop buying from Amazon – support local instead!

Head on over to Make It POP, Ottawa’s local pop-up shop on Wednesday, March 11 at the Algonquin Student Commons. Support your community by exploring local artisanal vendors at our market and thrifting gently loved clothing items in our pop-up shop.

Vibe with our DJ’s beats and stop to take a selfie at our installation. The Market is open from 2-9 PM, and guess what? It’s FREE! Keep the party going at our exclusive ticketed ($20) afterparty from 5-9 PM. Not only do you get to explore the market and pop-up shop, but you will have access to a beer garden brought to you by Local Lager. Enjoy your cold brew with live tunes and tasty food while browsing the silent auction tables to grab some fab deals!

Proceeds to three local charities: Dave Smith Youth Treatment Center, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer, and Ottawa Riverkeeper.

Tickets can be purchased through our website at http://www.makeitpop2020.com

2019-08-25 — Capital Pride Parade Participants

We, at the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre, are very excited and proud to be participating in this year’s Capital Pride Parade on Sunday August 25th.

June is pride month.  It is important to remember that substance abuse and mental health do not discriminate.  In fact, 2SLGBTQ+ youth are much more susceptible to mental health challenges and the effects of using substance abuse as a way to cope.  The DSYTC is a safe place for a fresh start for everyone, no matter who you love or how you identify.

Host An Event

At the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre we realize that we can’t do it alone and that we rely on the generosity and assistance of others in order to make a greater impact in the important work of raising funds for our youth.

There are many events organized and run by individuals and organizations that have chosen The Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre as the recipient of their proceeds. We appreciate every one of them.
